This little known free vector-based stylish and drawing application, Expression 3, is surprisingly from Microsoft.

It was not originally written by MS, but comes courtecy of them having taken over a small software house. Although not as comprehensive as the commercial equivalents, this could be very handy if you wished you had Illustrator or Freehand, but can't afford them just like me.
