As I understand it, it's not advisable to run Windows 9x on a PC that has more than 256MB RAM installed.
I'm told that if too much RAM is installed in a machine that only runs Windows 9x, could cause increased
levels of instability, as these legacy versions of Windows that are not built on NT cannot really handle
very large amounts of RAM efficiently enough to maintain system stability. And I'm sure we all know
that the old 9x series of Windows OSes aren't exactly the best when it comes to stability anyway!

A local computer shop that caters to the build-it-yourself crowd, had SIMM's: 32 Mb EDO, 60 ns. Bought two of them to put in the Linux PC, and it now has 229 Mb of RAM. SuSE now loads in faster, as does Opera.
Unusual combination of memory, but it works:
SIMM: two 16 Mb EDO, two 32 Mb EDO (all 60 ns)
DIMM: one 128 Mb PC100 (the SIMM's force this to run as a PC66)

Well, well, well, its seems that my computer is extremely obselete to some of the posts here, but here it is;
P3 200Hz
128 Pipeline burst Ram (remeber that Ram?)
30 Gigs HD
Floppdy Disk (does not work)
CD-Rom (works sometimes)
oh, but I do have a 17" monitor
That's pretty much it, nevertheless it still performs its designed job.

Wellander: How about telling how you got 27 computers and keep them all running? Are they all in one room? Who pays the electric bill?
