LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the "King of Pop" and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50. Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation.

My doctor said I was paranoid. Well, he didn't actually say it, but I could tell he was thinking it.

I was saddened this morning when I just about to rush out. It was the headline for this morning's Sunrise show. It was still unconfirmed when I first saw the news.
I went to one of Michael Jackson's HIStory Tour concerts in Auckland in 1996.

There were many things that could be (and were) said about Michael Jackson, but one thing was pretty much clear: the guy was a superb entertainer and singer.

A huge part of my music collection is Michael Jackson's music. From Thriller to almost every album after that.

Though I've never liked that guys music, I will admit that he changed the world of music.

Before I lost most of my music, I had almost all of his stuff. Now I only have Thriller, and the original cassette.
It's true that he changed the music world forever, and I doubt he from a cultural stand point will ever be forgotten.
There may have been some scandals, but that's old news. Now we just get to remember him for his music, and for the fact that he was, and still is a legend.
Case closed.

Below is an interesting observation from an article at PCWorld's website :
Michael Jackson Death Spurs Spam, Viruses
| Quote: | Less than 24 hours after Michael Jackson's death, fraudsters are exploiting public interest with their attempts to spread spam and malware. Security researchers say they've observed hundreds of cases of malicious messages masquerading as information about Jackson's death. Some of them, they say, popped up within minutes of the news. |

What an indictment upon our sick society. Very sad indeed.

I believe I bought all Michael Jackson's music videos on DVD (and on VHS earlier), except Ghosts (short film).
I watched Ghosts' premiere in the movies.

It was a nice Memorial Service for Michael Jackson. The farewell was fit for the king.

The memorial service was very touching. Love him or hate him, people will definitely have shed tears for him. I certainly did. The part where his children paid respect to him, that made me cry. It is heartbreaking for a child to lose a parent, and it is sad too the other way round. I know, I've been there. Celebrity or not, it is something no-one should have to endure.
Michael had his faults, he was not perfect, like the rest of us, but I admired him, and know despite all the allegations against him, he loved his children, and it was evident from the service that they loved him, too, very deeply.
My heart goes out to all his family, God Bless you all. Michael is safe now, and at peace. No longer is he suffering. God will look after him, he is in the best place he could possibly be.
R.I.P Mike, take care. We'll never forget you, or your talent. You will grace our dancefloors and playlists forever more.

Today's news headline: Michael Jackson had lethal level of Propofol. Propofol is a surgical anesthetic used to put patients under for surgery in intense care units.
The pop star's private doctor Conrad Murray told the police that he administered the power aesthetic. The documents revealed that during the 6 hours in the morning, Murry gave the King of Pop three different sedatives (a total of five times). Dr Murray claimed he had been trying to wean Jackson off the drug. However he agreed to inject Jackson with Propofol after everything else failed.
Los Angeles coroner concluded:
| Quote: | toxicology analysis showed that Michael Jackson had lethal level of Propofol in his blood. |
The Jackson Family issued a statement: They look forward to the day when justice is done.
