17 Jan, 2007 12:48 am Yojimbo 1.4 released [sdp=81406]

Last year, we mentioned Yojimbo, a great bits and pieces organiser. During MWSF 2007, Bare Bones released Yojimbo 1.4 with new AppleScript support and a number of bug fixes.

Yojimbo 1.4's AppleScript support can be used for inter-application automation. Customers can incorporate Yojimbo's power in concert with other productivity tools in an automatic workflow.

New features in Yojimbo 1.4:
Quote:
  • There is now an “Untagged Items” factory smart collection
  • Yojimbo is now extensively scriptable. Refer to the scripting dictionary in the Script Editor.
    Code:
    tell application "Script Editor"
       open posix file "/Applications/Yojimbo.app"
    end tell

  • File URLs which point to HTML are now accepted in places where we allow the creation of Web Archives from a URL.
  • The scripting interface for creating web archives will accept a file reference for the "with contents" parameters in order to create a web archive from HTML on the local file system.
The previous two features allow you to:
    • archive Mailsmith HTML attachments when viewing in your browser
    • bring over your Firefox Scrapbook
    • etc.

Yojimbo is not a designed to be another text editor, but table features in notes can be handy from time to time.

Yojimbo works best with .Mac service. MacCentre701 provides Yojimbo Backup ‘QuickPick’ (free) for all Yojimbo users to back up Yojimbo database.
