I agree, Time Warner's only concern is making lots of profits and reducing those debts. Thankfully the Mozilla Foundation is offering more end-user tailored solutions now.

I would add a link or something to my site, but no-one really visits my site . .. (Just a repository for keeping all my junk, basically).

Surprise or Not Surprise at all.
netscape.com is the default homepage of MSIE MSIE, and has been for years! (a special Netscape portal version for Apple is the default homepage for MSIE for Mac and Safari)

Yes, but this is only for the Mac versions of MSIE.

To be precise, it's not http://apple.netscape.com/apple.adp
which is the default homepage on Mac, but apple.com/something which redirects to it.

In the Apple stores here, http://live.apple.com redirected to the customized Netscape home page, but that URL doesn't work from my ISP.

My points still stand correct.

It's http://livepage.apple.com/

In Netscape Communicator (Classic), the default home page is http://www.media.euro.apple.com/en/livepage/

Edited, add link

It worked for me but now in Internet Explorer I canot see the regular http://www.netscape.com page I get redirected to http://apple.netscape.com/apple.adp
I am not happy now.
I will need to delete all of my cookies and temp internet files to fix it.

That's the very problem that I had several months ago. It seems, no matter which browser you're using,
be it Mozilla, Netscape IE, or whatever, and no matter which OS you're on, the Apple/Netscape home-
page sets a cookie which forces your browser to load the apple.adp page by default, everytime you
attempt to access the main homepage of the Netscape Network website. Ideally, it should really
only do this if you're using Netscape, Mozilla, IE or Safari on a Mac, but it doesn't!

When I experienced this problem, even clearing out my Netscape and Mozilla cache didn't resolve
the problem. I eventually found that going to either http://netscape.org/ or to http://mcom.com/
sorted it out. I was even considering recreating my Netscape/Mozilla profiles as a last resort!

Just for sake of blaming someone or something for this particular annoyance, I blame AOL . . . !

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

30 Nov, 2003 6:00 pm Online Security only one of many reasons to shun IE [sdp=21977]

I just signed the petition and will try to pass the information to others. There are rare times when I use IE6 and a month ago I discovered that my home.netscape.com had been taken over by a spyware site. Netscape has been just fine, but neither Zone Alarm Pro, Spybot S&D, AdAware, or Pest Patrol was able to get rid of this scourge on IE6.

I happily stumbled on the Hijackthis program on the forum at spywareinfo.com and was finally able to get rid of it just this afternoon. When I reset the homepage for Netscape, the ZAP privacy advisor came up with a whole raft of spy and adware it was blocking. I NEVER get these alerts with Netscape. Where I work, we use Netscape on certain computers because of the security factor!

I may have to have IE installed for some components to run, but I don't have to use it! Thank you, Ramona, for starting the petition!

01 Dec, 2003 3:12 am Situation in Japan [sdp=22013]

You might noticed that there are many Japanese Singers in these days.

Here is the situation.

Last Thursday, Kats Momoi, former Netscape Evangelist, let us know the petition page. I immediately signed, and started translating the page into Japanese. Meantime, another Mozilla/NS user posted the news on his news site.

I just finished translating, and already uploaded the page on my site. I guess the translation is not permission required, but if I'm misunderstanding, please let me know.

I also borrowed DJGM's image on my UFAQ(ja) top page.

For whatever it is worth I'm signature #1129. Smile
I sure hope Netscape survives somehow.
